G.M.B Akash’s photographic works focus on men and women on the margins of the Muslim society of his home country Bangla Desh. His images tell stories about prostitutes, homosexuals, drug addicts, the poor and the elderly, child workers, sick people and small-time criminals. Even though Akash doesn’t shy away from exposing them in their deepest misery, he always sees them as individual human beings with a dignity of their own.
